Suggest a better descriptionIf you want to bake right away, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. This is a very sticky dough, so I prefer to chill it for a couple of hours before baking.
In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Set aside.
In the bowl of an electric mixer with a paddle attachment, whip together the butter, sugar and brown sugar until fluffy (3-5 minutes). Next, mix in the egg yolks one at a time. Then add the vanilla and rum extracts and mix until well blended.
With the mixer on low, slowly add in the dry ingredients and eggnog. Mix until just combined.
Place a heaping tablespoon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced about 2 inches apart. Bake for 11-14 minutes. Allow the cookies to rest on the baking sheet for several minutes before moving to wire rack to cool.
