Suggest a better description1. Combine all ingredients EXCEPT tortilla chip crumbs in a large pot. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat. Simmer for 45 minutes to an hour.
2. Add the tortilla chips and cook for 10 more minutes, stirring frequently.
3. Blend the ingredients with a hand wand or in a blender.
4. Strain the sauce through a mesh strainer, forcing it through with a rubber spatula.
5. Season to taste and add water or reduce over low heat to get the correct consistency.
