A great tasting bread. This is a favorite in our household.
Place ingredients in the order given by your bread machine suggestions. Select loaf size using Bacis White bread.
For a 2 pound loaf, use the following ingredients:
1 1/4 cup water
4 cups white bread flour
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 Tablespoons powdered buttermilk
1/2 cup dairy sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 Tablespoons dried chives
2 Tablespoons Ranch salad dressing mix
1 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
Follow the above directions for a 2 pound loaf.
We have opted to make a change to this recipe. In place of grated cheese, we use 1 pound of cheese cubed (approx. 1" cubes) and work into the bread by hand after the machine has completed the knead cycle. Knead into the bread by hand.
Place the bread dough in an oiled bowl, cover and let rise until double. Punch down and form into 1 or 2 artisan style loaves. Place on a baking sheet that has been sprinkled with cornmeal. Let rise again. Bake ~~at; 350F.
