Suggest a better description1) Slice chicken into about 1/4" thick slices and season with salt and pepper.
2) Prepare fettuccine noodles according to package directions but remove about 1 minute prior to being al dente per package directions. Use a generous amount of salt and some olive oil in the water. When done, reserve 1/4 cup of the liquid and drain, but do not rinse.
3) Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and add 2 tablespoons of butter. When the butter melts, raise the heat to medium-high and add the chicken in 1 layer. Cook, without moving the pieces, until the underside has browned, 1 to 2 minutes. Flip the pieces, and cook until browned and fully cooked through, 2 to 3 minutes more. Transfer the chicken to a medium bowl.
4) Reduce the heat to medium, and add 2 more tablespoons of butter. When the butter is melted, add the garlic and saute until softened and just beginning to brown, about 2 minutes.
5) Add the remaining butter. Scrape the bottom of the skillet with a wooden spoon to release any browned bits. When the butter has melted, add the lemon juice. Lower the heat to keep the sauce just warm.
5) Add the reserved pasta water, chicken and pasta, toss well and continue cooking about 2 minutes until pasta is cooked to desired degree. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot in heated bowls.
