Chewy, crunchy, buttery oat slice. From my mother, with adaptations.
Melt butter & brown sugar & mix with rolled oats.
Press into a tin.
Bake 180C for 20 - 30 minutes.
Mark out squares or bars before it cools.
Store in an airtight container.
Adapt by reducing oats and adding a cup of coconut
Can add dried fruit. Press chocolate chips into the top before baking.
Very buttery so watch the edges don't burn. Easy for children to make.
