Line and grease a tin.
Place the butter, sugar and syrup in a saucepan over a low heat, stirring until fully melted and combined. Remove from the heat and allow to cool a little.
Mix the porridge oats and flour together in a separate bowl. Add the cooled syrup and stir together well.
Place in the lined tin, sprinkle with brown sugar and bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
Leave to cool in the tin.
