1. In large bowl with mixer at high speed, beat egg whites and salt until soft peaks form.
2. In small saucepan combine corn syrup and sugar. Stirring constantly, cook over medium low heat until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to full boil. Remove from heat.
3. Beating constantly, pour hot syrup into egg whites in a fine steady stream. Beat in vanilla. Continue beating until mixture holds stiff peaks. Use immediately.
Makes enough to frost two-layer 8" or 9" cake. Yields about 2 cups.
