These light, airy cookies are a Christmas necessity at my grandma's house. They are delicious, a little bit chewy, and amazing all around.
1. Preheat oven to 350 deg.
2. Beat egg whites until stiff, add sugar gradually.
3. Beat at high speed 5 min.
4. Fold in vanilla, chips and pecans.
5. Drop from teaspoon onto foil-lined cookie sheet.
6. Put in oven and turn off heat. Leave overnight or at least 8 hours.
Makes about 3 dozen meringue-like cookies.
You can add a few drops of food coloring if you want them coloured. My grandma always coloured them green.
