Suggest a better descriptionSnap the ends off the green beans, break into desired lengths. Place in large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil and reduce heat so it stays at a steady simmer, cook and stir occasionally for about 1 hour. Add the bacon and salt to taste and continue to cook for about 30 minutes or until the beans are tender. If desired the green beans canned be canned after cooking for one hour, do not add the bacon, but do add the salt. Process according to proper canning directions. Posted to MM-Recipes Digest by Paula
