This is a memory of North East Ohio if there ever was one. Of course, this recipe is from the Mad Dog Brewery in Falls Church, Virginia, but well... You've got to try these at least once!
Heat the oil in a large pan to 350 degrees F.
Combine all the dry ingredients into one bowl. Pour the buttermilk into another. Then coat pickles in the dry ingredients, then dip into the buttermilk, then re-coat with the dry ingredients. Shake off any excess flour mixture, then deep fry for about a minute. Remove frickles with a slotted spoon and drain before serving.
