Preheat deep fryer to 350 degrees.
Season both sides of tomatoes with salt and pepper. Get 3 shallow bowls. In 1st bowl, combine flour and garlic powder; in 2nd bowl, scramble eggs and milk, in 3rd bowl, mix bread crumbs and cayenne pepper. Dredge each tomato slice into the flour mix, then into egg, then into panko. Fry the tomatoes for 2 to 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
You can dip this in various types of sauces. I like ranch dressing.
