Fried Okra Patties are a wonderful Southern twist of fresh okra, onion and corn meal. Can be used for a snack or a side dish.
Pour oil into large skillet (should be at least an inch deep) and heat on medium high or 375 degrees.
In a large bowl, mix okra, onion, pepper, seasonings water and egg. Combine flour, baking powder and cornmeal together; and then stir both mixtures together.
Carefully use a large spoon such as a serving spoon of okra batter into the hot oil, fry each side until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side. Remove patty using a slotted spoon and allow draining on paper towels.
