Peel and slice tomatoes, onions and apples and pass through mincer.
Place these ingredients into crockpot and add all other ingredients except the cloves.
The cloves need to be placed in a cloth bag and tied with string then placed into the pot.
Place cover on crockpot and cook on high for 5 hours stirring only occasionally.
Remove cover and allow to reduce until the correct consistency is reached.
Place into jars and seal.
