preheat oven to 375
Mix batter: cream sugar and shortening; add eggs, dry ingredients, and vanilla; mix well.
fold in apples, and nuts. Spread in greased 9x13 pan.
Make topping: Mix ingredients and heat in sauce pan. Pour over batter.
Bake @ #75 for 35- 40 min.
