Mix chocolate with hot water. Beat egg whites until stiff with a little bit of cream of tartar.
Combine all ingredients in the order listed above. Add in the chocolate mixture and then fold in the stiff egg whites.
Bake in 3 layers at 350 for 35 minutes in lined, greased, and floured pan.
Ice top and sides with a white icing.
Filling for 2 layers: 1 cup sugar, 2 Tbs flour, 1 cup evaporated milk, dash of salt, 1 tsp vanilla. Bring to boil and add 2 sticks of butter, 1 cup grated coconut and 1 cup grated pecans.
