Cook the ziti according to directions. drain well, keep warm.
While the ziti is cooking, heat oil and add broccoli, pepper, onions and basil(if dry). cover and cook 8 minutes, stirring.
Stir in the shrimp, lemon zest, garlic, salt, ginger and basil(if fresh). Cook uncovered until the shrimp are cooked (about 4 minutes).
Stir in the half and half, bring to a boil (but do not scald) reduce the heat and cook uncovered for about 2 minutes.
spoon over the ziti and serve.
more often than not, I throw the ziti right into the pan at the end to make sure it gets coated evenly and is warmed through.
