Suggest a better descriptionCombine flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, salt, allspice and nutmeg, set aside. Beat 1/2 cup butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg until well mixed. Reduce speed to low. Continue beating, alternating flour mixture with molasses and 1 cup of water.
Pour batter into 9X13 dish; sprinkle with 3/4 cup of brown sugar. Combine 11/2 cups of hot water and 1/3 cup of melted butter. Pour over top of batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-55 minutes until it is cracked on top. Serve warm.
