Prepare 9x13 pan (or 8x8 pan for 1/2 recipe.) Heat oven to 350.
Combine sugar and spices.
Stir in oil, then molasses. Blend well.
Combine baking soda and boiling water and immediately stir into molasses mixture.
Stir flour into liquids gradually to prevent lumping.
Stir in beaten eggs.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake 40-45 minutes. (30-35 for 1/2 recipe.)
