Preheat oven 375.
Combine molasses & boiling water in a large mixing bowl and mix.
Add sugar & vegetable oil and stir well. Let cool to lukewarm, then add eggs and mix well.
Add flour, baking soda, spices and salt and mix until smooth.
Pour into a greased 9X13 pan and bake 375 for 30-40 minutes, until it is springy and pulling away from the sides of the pan or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
Serve with whipped cream topping - To whip easily place a large metal bowl and the beaters in the freezer. Make sure the cream is chilled. Sift powdered sugar into a bowl and have vanilla at hand. Pour cream into frozen bowl and beat at the highest speed until beginning to thicken. Gradually add powdered sugar and continue beating until soft peaks form. Add vanilla - keep beating for 5-8 minutes until the cream is whipped and stiff. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
