These cookies can be dropped onto cookie sheets or rolled and cut out. They look adorable as easter eggs with a pastel colored glaze.
1 - Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2 - In a large bowl cream butter for 30 seconds. Blend in sugar, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Mix in flour.
3 - Cover and chill dough 1 hour or until firm. Shape dough into 1" balls and place 2 " apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
4 - Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly brown. Transfer to wire rack and cool completely.
5 - For glaze combine milk and vanilla, stir in confectioners' sugar. Adjust consistency as needed by adding a bit more water to thin or more powdered sugar to stiffen. Blend in desired food coloring. Decorate cookies.
