Suggest a better descriptionSoften the yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water with the molasses. heat the remaining 2 cups of water to a boiling point, pour it over the rolled oats. Allow the mixture to cool to lukewarm. When the yeast has bubbled, combine it with the rolled oats. Add the remaining ingredients, using enough unbleached flour to make a moderately stiff dough. Knead until it is smooth and elastic. Shape into a ball, place it in a greased bowl, oil the top of the dough and cover the bowl. Set it in a warm place and allow it to rise and double in bulk. Punch down, knead lightly, and allow it to rise again and double in bulk. Punch down again, shape into @ loaves and place in greased pans. Cover with damp cloth, and allow the dough to rise again. Bake 350 degrees F. for about 55 to 60 minutes. yields 2 loaf
