Goulash a dish with noddles, tomato's, and meat.
Follow cooking directions on the box for the macaroni. In the meantime, combine diced tomato's, tomato sauce, tomato soup, garlic, and salt in an 8 cup measuring bowl. When the macaroni is finished cooking, blanche with cold water, drain and set aside in a very large mixing bowl. Mix tomato mixture and macaroni together in the mixing bowl. Using a small amount of olive oil, saute the onion until translucent. Add the hamburger and cook until meat is browned throughout. Drain the oil and mix with the other ingredients. Fold in 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese.
Place mixture into a large, 4.5 quart, casserole dish or 2 smaller ones. You may freeze it at this point for later consumption. To eat immediately, bake in an oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Additional information:
When I use the cheese I mix in the 1/2 cup as described and then use the rest sprinkled on the top. The recipe is easily varied or adjusted. When cooking the frozen casseroles allow more time in the oven, or pre-thaw the dish.
