Cake- first 9 ingredients:
Cream sugar and butter.
Gradually add flour, salt and baking soda.
Stir in egg.
Add buttermilk, cherries(with juice.)
Last stir in chocolate.
Bake at 375* in 2 round pans for ~19 minutes.
( I make 1 1/2-2 times recipe for each cake.)
Mix all ingredients in one bowl (not metal.)
Put bowl in ice water and beat until thickened to spreading consistency.
