This recipe takes about 50 minutes - and you won't regret it! The result is a pan of delicious, aromatic, comforting gingerbread that has been tried and trusted by generations of bakers.
Preheat the oven to 350'F (177'C). Combine the molasses, eggs, butter, vanilla, and brown sugar.
Combine the flour, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and baking powder together.
Add the two mixtures (the dough will be very sticky) before spreading into a well greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Place pan onto a cooling rack.
Once cool, cut into squares and serve.
*IMPORTANT*- If you live in an area that is dry, melt the butter. If you live in a humid area, soften the butter.
