Grandma Aurora's Cranberry salad (relish) relish recipe. She had this dated 1976 as the year she first made it.
Grind all ingredients in a food processor or grinder except honey and pepper. Apple does not need to be seeded. Add freshly ground pepper and adjust sweetener to taste. For best taste, make this one day ahead for flavors to meld.
Keep as much of the orange peel as you prefer. It adds a nice bitterness to balance the acid in the dish. I usually peel one orange and leave the other intact.
I usually use a combination of natural sweeteners including liquid or powdered stevia. If you use xylitol, do not let dogs eat any of this, as it causes a deadly insulin reaction in canines that humans do not experience.
