Cream Crisco and sugars. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, salt ans baking soda in seperate bowl. Fold into creamed mixture. Stir in oats and nuts. Roll into small balls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Let cool a few minutes before removing from the cookie sheet.
