This is my grandmother's recipe. It was always and hit and there were never any leftovers.
Melt butter in a pot. Add flour and sugar. Stir and let brown a wee bit, then slowly add juice from the corn. Cook till it thickens. Add corn and heat through. Add pepper to taste if desired.
1/4 cup Milk may be used instead of juice off corn (if you choose to use frozen corn, this is what you'll have to do). The juice of the corn seems to give this a better flavor.
