Suggest a better descriptionMix together eggs, sugar, salt, milk and vanilla extract.
Pour(or mix) the mixture into a pie or cake pan. Any pan large enough for two slices to lay down together.
Heat skillet over medium heat(this is a 6 of 10 on my stove).
Soak 2 slices of the bread in mixture, flip to coat.
Wipe the butter in the heated skillet.
Place the two coated slices in skillet when hot.
Place two more slices of bread in the mixture to soak, flip to coat.
Flip over when brown(about 2 min), sprinkle brown side with cinnamon.
Serve when both sides are brown.
Sprinkle powdered sugar over.
Work in batches of two, repeat till all the mixture is used.
My skillet will hold four slices of bread at a time, I start two, then when they flip over to the other side, I add two more. The toast rotates through my station until it is all gone; two in the mix coated and soaking, two fresh in the pan, two flipped on the second round in the pan and the rest on a plate complete and ready to serve. If you are not serving while you cook, they can rest on a towel lined pan in an oven at 200 until all are done, then serve together.
I like to use sourdough bread at a thicker cut for this, however any bread will work. Different breads will give different flavors and textures.
