Shortbread recipe from Grandma & Grandpa Ziegler. Possibly originally from Contessa.
Can add pecans or chocolate chips.
Mix together and shape into disk. Wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
(Dough freezes well)
Flour board and roll out to l/2 inch. Place on parchment paper. Sprinkle with sugar
and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
If dipping in chocolate – Melt half of chocolate in bowl over hot water for 30 seconds
or until melted. Add the remainder of chocolate and mix.
Do not melt butter; it must be room temperature. Do not use Sucanet; it must be sugar.
