Sticky buns from my grandmother's kitchen, yum!
Scald Milk, Place butter in milk to cool.
Firstly make the sponge.
Dry Yeast in the tepid water, let dissolve until yeast and water develop bubbles. Add 1 Tablespoon of sugar, 2 cups of flour, let "rise/activate" for 1 hour.
After the yeast activates add milk, eggs, butter, and remaining sugar, mix until a soft dough forms. Kneed on lightly floured surface for 2 turns.
Let rise in covered buttered bowl in a warm location until doubled in bulk.
On a lightly floured surface kneed the dough adding flour if necessary until you have a smooth and shiny consistency.
Original directions:
Divide in half. (you will be doing the same thing to both halves)
This will take about three casserole pans
In pans even spread brown sugar onto bottom of pans divide butter evenly between pans and sprinkle evenly with nuts and cinnamon
Roll 1/2 dough into a circle about 1/5 ft diameter. Butter and add brown sugar sprinkle with Cinnamon. Roll from both sides. But between rolls then slice horizontally about 2in thick. Place in casserole dishes, rolls may touch.
Cook at 350 deg F for 30 min or until golden brown on top. Remove from pans while still hot.
Alternate directions. Sprinkle cinnamon brown sugar and crushed nuts onto buttered casserole dishes, dribble with syrup (maple).
Lightly Roll dough in a very lightly floured surface into two rectangles about 10 wide and 3/4 in deep. butter one side and sprinkle buttered side with cinnamon and brown sugar and a few nuts. Roll rectangles into a long roll with sprinkled side in. Cut long roll into 2in pieces and place in casserole dishes. Bake at 350 deg F fro 30 min till golden brown on top. Remove from pans while still hot, serve while still warm or freeze for enjoyment later.
