This bran muffin recipe won 1st place, the blue ribbon, in 1997 and 1998, 1999, at the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomana, Calif.
Also: In 2002, 1st place, blue ribbon, at the California State Fair in Sacramento Calif.
Combine in large bowl, oats, flour, wheat germ, bran, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix enough by hand to blend ingredients together.
Add honey, molasses, milk, yogurt, canola oil, raisins and flavoring. Mix gently enough to blend all ingredients together.
Fold in well-beaten egg whites.
Let stand in bowl 8 - 10 minutes.
Pour into muffin pans using 2 1/2 inch baking cups or foil.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 - 17 minutes.
