Preheat oven to 400.
Cook onion in butter slightly about 1 minute, Blend in flour,sugar,salt and pepper. Add milk and cook until thick.
Remove from heat and add green beans and sour cream.
Spread 1/3 of bean mixture in buttered dish, sprinkle some cheese, repeat layers ending with cheese.
Mix corn flakes with melted butter and spread on top
Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
I use frosted flakes, but you can use corn flakes, or french's crispy onions.
