Braised beans

1. Set a large saucepan over medium heat, and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the bacon and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is well browned, about 5 minutes. Add the onions cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are translucent, 3 - 4 minutes. add the green beans and toss to combine with the bacon and onions.
2. Add hot water to cover all ingredients and turn heat to High. As soon as it begins to boil, turn heat to Medium, place a id on the pan and cook for 10-20 minutes until beans are just tender. Remove the lid, season the beans with salt and pepper and toss well.
3. Remove the beans from the heat and transfer to a serving bowl using a slotted spoon.
