Basic green chili recipe my whole family loves.
1. Heat oil in dutch oven or stew pot.
2. Add pork and fry until no longer pink.
3. Add garlic and fry until fragrant, about a minute
4. Add water and all the Better Than Bouillons. Bring to a boil.
5. Reduce heat. Cover and let simmer for 45 minutes.
6. While meat is simmering, dice chilies to desired size.
7. Pour tomatoes in a bowl and crush with your hands.
8. Add green chilies, jalapenos, if using, and tomatoes to the pot and bring to a boil.
9. Simmer for 15 minutes.
10. Add Cilantro and stir well.
11. Add cornstarch to cold water and mix. Add to Green Chili pot and stir well.
12. Simmer about 3 - 5 more minutes or until desired consistency is obtained.
Using cans of whole green chilies instead of diced green chilies adds a lot more flavor to the dish. Diced green chilies tend to be quite bland and flavorless.
