Delicious and easy. Steaks grilled this way are very flavorful and tender
Pour layer of salt thick enough to cover the bottom of a plate or low sided bowl big enough to hold your steaks stacked on top of each other.
Place one steak on top of the salt
Pour another layer of salt over the top of that steak - thick enough to cover the steak well
Place the second steak on top of the salt covered first steak
Pour a layer of salt over the top of the second steak - thick enough to cover the steak well
Repeat until you have stacked all of the steaks and the final steak has a thick layer of salt covering it
Cover the steak with plastic wrap
Heat your grill to high for about 10 minutes, it should get close to 500 degrees F.
After 10 minutes, unwrap the steaks and brush all the salt off. Do not rinse it off under water. You can run you hand under the water to get the salt off your hand but do not wash it off the steaks
Take the steaks outside to the grill
Using a wire brush, brush all residue from the grill (it should be ash by now).
Turn the grill down to high to medium-high and place the steaks on the grill
Grill for 3 minutes and turn them over
Grill for 3 more minutes and turn them again but turn them around a quarter turn to get a nice diamond pattern going
Grill for 5 minutes (remove the steaks from the grill and serve if you want them rare to medium) - Turn them again and turn them around a quarter turn to get a nice diamond pattern on the second side
Grill 5 more minutes (remove the steaks from the grill and wait 5 minutes before serving - they will be medium well - not much pink)
If you want them well done, grill 3-5 more minutes without turning
