Grandma Minnie's amazing traditional cornbread dressing.
Make the Gutierrez Holiday Cornbread recipe FIRST.
Chop:
3 stalks celery
1 green bell pepper
1 onion
1/2 to 1 teaspoon minced garlic (about 1-2 cloves)
Melt 1 stick butter in pan.
Add 2 tbsp. olive oil to pan and heat.
Add chopped vegetables to butter and oil in pan and sauté until soft.
Add salt, pepper, 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning, and 1/2 teaspoon cumin to pan. Then add two cans of Cream of Chicken Soup, plus two soup cans of milk.
Crumble cornbread in a huge bowl. Add salt, pepper, dash of poultry seasoning, and about 1 tsp. ground cumin.
Add broth, cream of chicken soup, and sautéed veggies to cornbread and mix well. Continue to season with salt, pepper, poultry seasoning and ground cumin as needed. Add chicken stock or broth as you continue to season. Keep moist by continuing to add broth. You don't want it to dry out when it's browning in the oven.
Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Remove foil stir, and let brown a bit.
