heat olive oil in soup pot. add onion, celery and sweet potato and sauté for 5 minutes. add garlic and salt and sauté 5 more minutes
add seasonings and broth, cover and simmer 15 minutes
add tomatoes, red pepper and garbanzo beans
simmer for 10 minutes or until vegetables are cooked
salt and pepper to taste
