Put on a large pot of water to boil.
Brown cabbage and onion in olive oil in a large frying pan until soft.
Combine flour, salt, egg and enough warm water to make a semi-stiff dough.
Turn on reverse side of a dinner plate and cut small (really small) pieces into boiling water. Not too many at a time - maybe 1/3 the dough. Boil until cooked (about 5 minutes). Remove with slotted spoon.
Add dumplings to cabbage/onion mixture and saute until dumplings pick up some color.
