Combine the shortening, salt, sugar and boiling eater in a large mixing bowl. Stir until all ingredients are dissolved and then allow to cool to lukewarm. Add warm water and sprinkle in dry yeast. Stir until the yeast is dissolved and let rest 10 minutes until liquid is foamy.
Pour liquid mixture into bread machine. Add flour and turn machine on dough cycle. After about 10 minutes make sure flour is mixed with liquid fully, if necessary scrape down side walls of bread machine container to get excess flour mixed in.
Let rise in bread machine for about one and a half hours or until dough doubles in size.
Pull dough out of mixing container and place on floured surface. Slice of fist sized balls of dough and spread into rectangular shaped flat pieces of dough. Place two slices of ham and one piece of cheese in center of dough rectangle. Fold over dough and pinch, placing dough into a bread pan. Continue until no more dough is left.
Let dough rise in pans in warm draft free area for another hour. Then heat up a pizza stone in the oven to 400 degrees. Cook up to 4 of the pockets in the center of the oven for 10-14 minutes. Brush tops of bread with butter when they come out.
These freeze really well and reheat in the microwave with just a moist paper towel wrapped around them and cooked on high for 45 seconds.
