Can make into hors d'oeuvres, cut bread into 1 1/2-2 inch circle, then press into miniature muffin cups.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Heat 1 1/2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute' bell pepper and onion in hot butter until tender about 3 minutes.
Sprinkle flour over bell pepper mixture in skillet and stir until well mixed. Add hot water gradually, stirring continually, until thickened, about 2 minutes. Stir in the evaporated milk. Cook, stirring continually, just until thickened, about 2 minutes.
Add mustard, lemon juice, worcestershire sauce, salt and black pepper and mix well. Stir in ham. Keep warm.
Melt remaining butter in a small saucepan. Press each bread slice into a muffin cup. Brush with melted butter. Bake until browned, about 6 minutes. Fill cups with the ham sauce. Sprinkle with swiss. Bake until ham sauce is heated through, about 10 minutes. Serve immediately.
