This is a great sauce that I use on the thick (1 1/4 inch thick) ham steak with bone in.
Mix all the ingredients together. Add more brown sugar if the sauce is too runny and add more rum if the sauce is too thick. I like to use a dark rum like The Kraken Black Spiced Rum.
How to cook the steak
Preheat oven to 375 °F (190°C)
Line baking sheet with aluminum foil or a silicone mat
Glaze ham with sauce above.
Tent ham with aluminum foil to keep the ham moist
Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C)
Let stand for 5 minutes
