A creamy scrumptious accompaniment side dish
Begin this dish by cooking the macaroni in a pot of boiling water on the stove top.
While the macaroni is boiling, melt the butter in a medium sized sauce pan on a low to medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the plain flour to make a smooth paste. Once the paste is formed turn down the heat and begin to add the milk and whisk repeatedly until you have a nice thick consistency. Now add the cheddar cheese, mustard and salt along with the black pepper to a taste of your liking and continue to whisk until the consistency is smooth and free of any lumps. Your cheese sauce is now done. Turn off heat..
Next, turn off heat and drain the macaroni in a colander and place in a non stick casserole dish. Pour the cheese sauce over the macaroni noodles and mix through until all of the macaroni is covered with the cheese sauce.
Place the entire dish in the oven and let bake for 15 minutes or until the top becomes golden brown. Once the top is browned take dish out of the oven and let rest for 5 minutes then serve and watch the smiles as your guest begIn to enjoy.
