Make dough starting with flour, baking powder and sugar. Smush in Crisco. Add buttermilk and stir with a fork. You will have a sticky dough.
Flour surface and turn dough onto surface. Mix with enough excess flour to make dough manageable. Cut out biscuits. Place in heated skillet till full. Paint biscuits with buttermilk.
Cook at 400 for 20 minutes.
