Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In bowl of electric mixer, combine cream cheese, sugar, eggs, hazelnuts, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and rum.
Butter a 10 x 3 inch deep layer cake or springform pan and coat with bread crumbs. Pour batter into pan. Put pan with the cheesecake batter into a deep pan. Fill outside pan with water until water reaches halfway up sides of cheesecake. Bake for 45 minutes. Cool and serve.
