This healthy cranberry sauce recipe is made with only 4 whole food ingredients, uses orange juice and maple syrup to sweeten and is so easy!

Put all ingredients except the zest into a pot and bring to a boil over medium high heat. About 5 minutes.
Reduce to medium low and simmer for about 10 minutes until the cranberries have burst and the mixture thickens. If it gets too thick just add some water to thin it out.
Remove from heat and stir in the orange zest.
The frozen fresh cranberries may come in a 10 ounce bag instead of 12 ounce. This still works well, just use anywhere between 10-12 ounces.
I used ¼ cup maple syrup because I much prefer it tangy than sweet. But taste and adjust to your preference.
If you don’t want the orange flavor, use all water instead of part orange juice and don’t use the zest.
If using fresh cranberries, wash and rinse first.
This makes about 1 1/2 cups, serving size is 1/4 cup.
