2. Add sugar, let it stand until it starts bubbling and foaming.
3. Add salt, oil, egg, and mix well.
4. Gradually add flour 1-2 cups at a time. As the dough stiffens, flour your hands and begin kneading until the dough is smooth.
5. Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
6. Preheat oven to 350°
7. Shape the Challah (adding more flour if needed). This is where you can add other ingredients like nuts and seeds if you like. This recipe makes 2 small or 1 big Challah. Divide each bread into 3 and braid.
8. Brush Challah with beaten egg. Sprinkle any additional ingredients you like (optional)
9. Bake for approximately 30 min or until golden brown.
