Adapted from the 1934 Hershey's recipe book. This is the REAL deal, dense, not too sweet and as rich as rich can be. Simply delicious.
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
2. In medium non-stick saucepan, mix butter, cream, raisins, and the chocolate chips. Keep over medium heat, and stir constantly until melted and mixed.
3. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla.
4. In medium bowl mix sugar, carnstarch, cinnamon and salt. Stir into raisin mix.
5. In a small bowl, beat the eggs well, add to raisin mix and mix well. Pour into pastry crust.
6. Bake in center of oven for 40-45 minutes or until the filling is set. Cool and enjoy!
