Great with ice cream or milk.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9x13 inch baking pan lined first with parchment paper on bottom. In bowl, stir together cocoa and baking soda; blend in 1/2 of the melted butter. Add boiling water; stir until mixture thickens. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining melted butter; stir until smooth. Add flour, vanilla and salt; blend well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired. Pour into prepared pan lined with parchment paper. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into squares. Makes about 3 dozen.
