Suggest a better descriptionIn a greased casserole dish (or slow cooker):
- layer 1/2 of the potatoes
- a layer of hamburger
- scatter onions and rice on top
- salt and pepper
- add tomato sauce (or whole tomatoes)
- add water to bring liquid level to top of ground beef layer
- lay remaining potatoes on top
- 'frost' the top with condensed tomato soup
- bake covered at 350ยบ about 1 1/2 hours (or 5-6 hours on low in slow cooker)
- remove cover for the last 1/2 hour or so
