Place bean in a large bowl covering with at least one inch of water. Cover with a towel and let soak about 12 hours or over night.
Drain beans and rinse. Place in a colander lined with a tea towel or flour sack. Wrap towel around beans and rinse with water wetting towel around beans. Watch for beans to sprout. Rinse if necessary to keep beans moist.
Saute onion in lard in a large soup pot and saute until they start to brown. Place sprouted beans in a pot with the onion. Add 12 ounces of tomato sauce and chicken broth. Cook until the beans are tender. Add remain ingredients and cook on low until flavors blend.
Slice hot dogs and saute in a skillet. Stir cooked hot dogs into the beans and serve.
